Also, the DVD uses two levels of copy protection system which makes it difficult to grab and post screenshots without deterioration or losing either chroma or its hue.

Waaaaaaaat? :o What are these two levels of protection?

Ali

Hmm! that only aamir can achieve! self destruct if sampled lol

Folks, try playing this using different applications such as windows media player, vlc media player, powerdvd etc. On my laptop, except when playing on powerdvd, the video appears scrambled. The copy protection thing is indeed for real ;-)

The T-series dvd is confirmed R5. The UTV dvd may be R0.

I just finished watching the dvd on TV... the video transfer is A-grade! Be warned, see for yourself, do not base your opinion on screenshots taken off laptops etc. It's LOVELY!!!

I will try taking some shots off my home PC in Patiala when I visit hometown. Am apprehensive abt taking shots from laptop.

Meanwhile, the sound -- just right, just right -- folks, this is a collector's delight alright ;-)

New Delhi: In a first of sorts, Walt Disney has bought the overseas home video rights of Aamir Khan's Taare Zameen Par.

It is the first Indian film to have been acquired by a Hollywood studio. Disney will distribute the home video of the film in the US, UK, Canada and Australia.

The official home video of Taare Zameen Par will have a special commentary by Aamir Khan on the making of the film, behind-the-scenes, copy of the paintings from the movie by child star Darsheel Safary and Aamir Khan amongst a host of other things.

Though there has been no disclosure about the money involved in the deal, if sources are to be believed, the home video rights were acquired for a sum of Rs 4 crore.

These shots are still taken from rips, not straight from the DVD video.

I am wary of laptop screenshots -- they don't give the true pictre -- at least my laptop doesn't, but here goes one directly from my t-series dvd and from my laptop -- don't have a jpg converter handy so uploading the bmp... can someone convert this for me?

u can Never TELL from Rips, people use Rip Scripts to enhance the quality

it might not be the Worst dvd from aamir, having delayed SO much there by raising the expectation of people & terming that delay was in the dvd,the "perfection" is utterly Ridiculous

i might say this... work the goodies along with the main dvd & artwork pricing is PERFECT

@Newdeep: can u Clearly list out the contents of the collector edition package ??

i know so much:

DVD I - movie
DVD II - SPL Features
ACD with backround score

Any colouring book or painting along with the package ?

@Farooq: any enhancements done on ur dvd ? it looks more crisp

Orig if right SS looks immensely pale/color less, soft, unless Mr perfect gave that look to his film, lifeless look.

there's just one original shot in this thread straight from the dvd -- the one I posted with some wariness because my laptop won't always give a true picture. BUT what I have watched on TV is TRUE TO THEATRICAL -- very much so -- amazing in fact ;-)

This is India's first Bollywood movie with Region Coding I think -- and coming from T-series, all the goodies minus the irritants -- well guys, they need to be applauded to continue along this path and improve -- encouragement can make that happen ;-)

I still see no improvement at all

The shots Farooq bhai posted look impressive, but NewDeep the DVD lacks detail and seems cropped. I mean Aamir made us wait for over 6 months for this DVD and he gives us this junk!
