To repeat myself from before, the cost of K3G is:
In Indian rupees Re40 crores, which is Re400 million. Converted to US dollars that would be approx $8.3 million. In British pounds it would be approx £5.6 million. Which makes it the most expensive Indian film to date, not including 'Gandhi' which was only partly funded by the NFDC (National Film Development Corporation, read Indian government). 'Kaante' irrespective of what it's final budget may be, has not yet been completed and released, therefore it does not count.

Guys, who gives a rat's ass to how much this movie costs!...how does it matter at all for us the audience?? if they lose money or make money, why do we give a crap...these people all will make money thru' satellites, music etc and will live happily ever after, while here we are trying to blow our brains on what their movie cost...I mean do you honestly think they will come out and say "Well ours is one cheap ass movie, but hope you enjoy it"??... I think the actual story etc is more important to us as is its entertainment value, 'cause I don't care if they have spend 500 million dollars, but if their movie is shit, I want my ticket money back and the three hours of my life back...(and these day the bastards are costing almost 4hrs of my life with their long shit :) )..

ofcourse doesnt hollywood also talk abt how much a film costs for eg titanic and its huge budget and so on... by knowing the budget u know how rich and exotic the film is gonna be.... it is just a case of curiousity i guess... it doesnt necesarily mean the film is good or not .... but it doesnt hurt to enlighten ur knowledge abt a film's costs ...

hey its a free world and you can post whatever you want I guess...its just that I felt some people were totally obsessed with the money spent on the movie (as they have posted in different threads about the same question)...I mean for the love of God, it costs a lot and they are going to make a lot..Their balance sheet will read: Net Income: "Bling Bling!!"...For us, our balance sheet will read: Net Loss: $(ticket Price) + 3-4 hrs of our life..There, this is the financial picture of the movie..

I just saw K3G what a deplorable movie!! I can't believe KJ can make such a crap of a movie.. actually now that I think about it I believe it..
I am very disappointed at this movie.. what a let down from start to finish full of cliches and hang over from KKHH.
God Help KJ.

I saw K3G last night, and I though that film was pretty good, atleast 10 times better than last year's Mohabbatein, and i even found it a bit better than KKHH. I really loved its entertainment, and a very emotional film as well. To me, Karan johar has become a promising director now, it proves that he is not a one film fluke (like Aditya Chopra). Amitabh Bachchan was kindda crap in the first half, but in the second half towards the end, he was much better. And Kajol's comedy in the film was just outstanding. She seems to extract the best performances out of a Karan Johar film.

I don't find it surprising that the movie has taken such a good opening in UK. But what does surprise and shock me is the VERY poor opening the film has taken in the US. I don't know the exact collections or rank in the box office chart. But what I do know is that it has failed to make it to the top 20 for the weekend. And considering that the No 20 movie 'Hardball' has taken in only $209,441 would mean that K3G has not even managed to collect as much. Which is awfully low since atleast 6 Hindi movies this past yr have collected more than that in their first weekend. In fact the record to date is approx $700000 for the first week. If K3G had collected as much as the existing record, it would have placed it at No. 11 on the charts which would have made it the highest debuting Hindi film.
