I wonder what the mentality and purpose of releasing this teaser is ??? It certainly doesn’t inspire confidence to go out and buy the DVD! It's so crap quality is hard to make out what’s happing and the scary bit – its full screen. So its no way a representation of how the Lagaan DVD will be (oh I'm sooo hoping not! :0 )

The tralier is actually the USA cinema tralier for the film's theatrical release. Its quite a neat trailer (for an Indian film), I think they are using it for the DVD advertisment as well.

This is so cool!! It is like finally an Indian film having Hollywood campaigning!! BTW... Ali I hope the full screen is just for the internet or has been done just for the trailer only.

I don't think this is the cinematic trailer cause this trailer is for the Columbia Tristar Home Entertainment's dvd.

Yo! that's a fucking kick-ass teaser...but's its more of a theatrical teaser than a promo for a DVD.

I realize that its a promo for the DVD of lagaan, but in general, I was just saying that it appears more like a theatrical promo than a DVD promo. I personally haven't seen too many DVD promos of any film, but am well recognized with Film theatrical promos, and i linked everything i saw through this lagaan promo to what i know of in film theaterical trailers. Sorry if you misunderstood me. :where:

You don't have to apologize man :) I was just highlighting the fact that it might be for the dvd. I have seen trailers of B grade English movies releasing directly on Columbia Tristar dvds.

This is a Good Teaser for the theatrical release of Lagaan. Fail to understand why does it bear "...home entertainment" logo if it is for theatre.

I have not really seen any special DVD teasers so cannot comment.

Any word on how and where Lagaan releases in mainstream USA/Canada market?

It was orignally a cinema trailer but like with many American films the end bit was changed to promote the DVD. Its a bit ilke when the cinema tralier and t/v spots are similar, same thing with this promo.
