Eros are coming out with 100 or more song collection DVDs. Video quality can’t be much from it but there are presented on DVD-17 DVD discs - dual sided dual layered disc. Two I've seen on sale recently are;

A Tribute To Mohamad Rafi Century Series (100 songs)
Best of Bollywood Century Series (101 songs)

Wow! EROS have become the first to release the first ever Indian DVD-18 discs. Intresting...this should venture on to better things in the Indian DVD industry....

Now they have no excuses for producing poor quality discs. and can even do full screen version on side 1 and ananmorphic widescreen (OAR) version on side 2, so all consumers are satisfied. But somehow I feel they might contiune to produce poor quality products. :baaa:

The Century series first started out with a disc called Century Dhamaka Vol.1 which I bought. That was a big mistake, the video for the most part was original widescreen aspect ratio but the was very grainy, dark and dull :angry: the audio is not even worth a mention at all. Then Vol.2 came out, which I bought thinking that the B4U logo is not on it therefore it cannot be all that bad, also maybe ERO$ realised that Vol.1 was bad and fixed Vol.2...No F**KING way! :vangry: It was just a bad as the first round. Don't get it, double sided disc plenty of room you'd expect it to be a good disc. I don't know about their other ""century"" series but going by these two the discs are not worth it at all!

I've not seen them personally, just faddy told me about the Rafi collection - I made him check over and over again to make sure that’s it a double sided dual layered disc! He said the quality of video is crap – expected from Eros :rolleyes: - but people will get these for the just songs although even thought the songs are poor quality.

I really don’t like these discs anyway as the same material can be put on 2 DVD-9 discs and then you don’t have to be careful about smudging one side with finger prints (fidgety to handle!). I remember when T2: Ultimate Edition was released and such a big deal was made about these type of discs – but that quickly faded as people preferred the later 'revised' version which came on 2 DVD-9 discs.

And no way is this going to improve DVD quality especially from likes of Eros – biggest problem when it comes to poor DVD quality is poor source used (film prints and telecine process). When the source is not going to improve it doesn’t matter if the ultra high capacity 100gb discs come out – Eros will still use the same source to make trashy quality discs :(

the disc is awesome... well i mean the contents.. i.e. the songs!! the video is shite but that was expected! And the arsehole mother of all muppets Eros panned the sound to all five channel!! Dont know whether its the disc or my setting but its using my full 6.1 setup to play the songs.. and wat do we get hissing galore!! i have to actually switch the disc to 2 ch to get the best of the songs!! its a great disc if u like Rafi stuff!! i just turn the telly off and liste to the songs!! thats the best thing to do... :) if anyone wants some screen grabs i will do em.. but its pointless cos some tracks have some excellent video transfer and some are pathetic VHS transfer... so unprofessional...... well i think we already knew that about ArsEros
