ok its not 100% down to the bone, thats why i never heard it mentioned anytime on tv or the net but ive seen escape to victory enough times (comes on ever christmas in uk, amazing film) and i know the guy ripped it off . just changed it to location in india which made the sport cricket, if you have seen the film you cant disagree with me i think. and every time i see that person who wrote it (saw him a few times on tv saying how he came up with the story) i get so angry i want to smack him and say you ripped off escape to victory admit it!

The premise is the same, but I never liked Escape to Victory t'was a shite film (IMHO). Lagaan improves upon it. All films uses premises of past films just look at Seven Samurai and see how many films have used the basic idea from that...Sholay, A Bugs Life, Magnificent Seven even parts of Saving Private Ryan.

Shahran Sunny Audit agree with you 100% just what anoys me is the last time i saw the guy talking about it he said how he came up with the idea and he said all this crap for the tv, i'm 100% sure he watched the film and from that came up with the idea.

I don't mind sport films like Any Given Sunday, Raging Bull, White Man Can't Jump. Just didn't like Escape to Victory when I saw it when I was about 14/15 yrs old (when I thought ID4 was a baad movie = gosh how embarassing). Maybe if I watch Escape To Victory now I might get into it moreso.
