rumor has it that Amitabh Bachchan might play Shah Jahan, I personally hope that he doesn't, especially when Aishwariya Rai is Mumtaz. They should grab someone NEW or other personals like Hrithik Roshan, Shah Rukh Khan, or even Anil Kapoor in my opinion. Atleast from the Plus Points this film could possibly get an International Company (ie. Hollywood) do its DVD & mastermind A.R. Rahman composes the films music :)

They wanted Mr. Roshan but he has no dates, neither for

Here's the reason your fears about Amitabbh can be laid to rest: they're angling for a worldwide (read: not only desi) audience, and AB doesn't have the cross-over appeal any longer: he's not young enough, hence not "saleable" to Westerners unfamiliar with him.

For this same reason, they probably went after Hrithik. Since they can't have Hrithik, I would bet money that they'll pick Arjun Rampal. I know, it's ridiculous; I'd rather see SRK (SRK, SRK, ooh, ooh!) too, but again, while I think he's gorgeous, he's not model-beautiful, and that's what they'll want for the crossover appeal. I can't think of anyone more perfect for pan-global appeal than A Rampal. Fardeen, Anil, Aamir, none of them are out-and-out stunning enough.

*Maybe* Salman Khan...

Simran..i personally think they should choose a someone that not only can appeal to a universal audience interms of there look, but also, if they can portray the character well. Currently, I don't think anyone in Bollywood would portray Shah Jahan to a perfect extent. That's why they should seek for someone new that can. From the past film's made on Taj Mahal, the best character to ever protray "Shah Jahan" in my opinion was Pardeep Kumar in the 1963 version of Taj Mahal.

Obviously! But I'm just waxing pessimistic on what I think they're **going** to do.
