I loved the books and only hope the film does justice to them, though I somehow doubt it as cinema could never beat your own imagination, and the books created tons of it for me. Still I will most likely see it. Buts its good to know that the film has a long running time of nearly three hours, which should mean a well etched polt.

I think K3G will be one of the most profitable film of December in UK cinemas. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai did it in Oct 1998, opening in a few cinemas and raking more money per showings then any other films opened during that time(quite an achivement) making it the most sucessful Hindi film outside India.

K3G should be a box-office success in UK (dunno about USA/India), and will hit around number 6 or 7 in the charts (IMHO).

LOTR will obviously be a massive film, but isn't really fair on comparing it to a small scale Hindi film, catering for a diffrent audience segmentation.

i agree that K3G Should break every possible record here in UK.....However im not sure on it breaking records on its first 3 days of release as a lot of the cinema-goers will still be finishing ramdan and due to that reason will remain away from cinemas....By sunday-Monday Ramdan will be over for most people and collections should start hitting the roof

** Read the following at your own risk. Might contain spoilers**

LOTR kicks butt. It is cool. I saw a special screening of it. Almost 3 hours long and visually stunning. Middle Earth is perfectly piturised. IMHO, if someone is a HUGE fan of the books, then they might be a little disappointed by what they left out and what they included. I thoroughly enjoyed the film and everyone should see it in the cinema. I can't wait to get the DVD. :DD:

As for someone mentioning that K3G is a measly little hindi film. Isn't it true that it is the most expensive hindi movie made. I know that it's not a lot compared to Hollywood, but still.

But Harry has the advantage of being the most touted kid flick in a while. This means that kids will probably see it again and again and the parents will go with them. I don't know LOTR may or may not break Harry's record.

Just returned home after watching LOTR. Visuals are WOW!, but there were a few changes made to the story as we know it. I can't say I'm totally satisfied with the movie, but I guess its a pretty good effort.
