Didnt like the colors on this DEI print, also quite dull looking with a blue tinge.
My VCD from T-series looked more vibrant

I remember them VCDs T-series use to release during the late 90's. I still may have some

I'm in love with the Shemaroo shots! :)
Too bad it is PAL to NTSC field averaged. Just see how much details are lost in DEi.... But that's the progressive one :(

Welcome back Ragz. Are your exams over or just got a break. Studies First.

Check again Ragz. So far, all the Shemaroo DVDs that were Progressive in DEI release, have been Pseudo-Prog in Shemaroo release. (A field averaged video can't be this sharp, except for prolonged stills).

Sure, Shemaroo does apply some video processing that brings out life in old faded material. I guess, we could do the same with DEI video and may get equally good colors ?? To me, DEI video looks slightly sharper (but has dull colors).

Thanks, Ji!
Exams are on! I just took a break.

Yes! DEi is definitely sharper than Shemaroo (tad only to my eyes) and colors are poorer.

I'm perfectly happy with progressive DVDs with dull colors as long as it is sharp enough and the Contrast / Brightness is good. That's because I can suit the colors on my own accord with the remote control.

But in this case, so much of the details has been lost. Otherwise I'd have prefered it over Shemaroo version.

There's another case when Gamma or Brightness levels are too high (as in DEi's AAA). I'm okay with that too because the brightness can be easily controlled. But I don't think lost details can be brought back, only will it distort the PQ if it's brought back (???)

As you said, Shemaroo's colors with DEi' sharpness can be done as long as details aren't lost unnecessarily.
